This Privacy Policy explains how the Best Before: Expiry Tracking app ("the App", "we", "us"), operated by Kazook Apps, MB, handles data when a Shopify merchant ("you", "the merchant") installs and uses it. It covers data about you, your store, and your customers.
The App is provided by Kazook Apps, MB. For any privacy question, data request, or complaint, contact us at info@kazookapps.com. For data processed on behalf of merchants, we act as a data processor and the merchant is the data controller.
The App helps you track product expiration ("best before") dates and manage inventory in batches. When you sell, cancel, or refund an order, the App deducts the right quantity from the oldest batch first (FIFO) and keeps your Shopify inventory and expiration metafields in sync.
We deliberately process the minimum data needed to provide this service.

We use this data solely to provide the App's functionality: tracking expiration dates, deducting inventory by batch when orders are placed, cancelled, or refunded, keeping Shopify inventory and expiration metafields in sync, and — only if you opt in — sending you notification emails about upcoming expirations and inventory mismatches. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose, and we do not sell or rent data to anyone.
Where the GDPR applies, we process data on the basis of performance of a contract (providing the service you installed) and our and your legitimate interests in accurate inventory management. Notification emails are sent only with your consent, given when you enable them in the App's settings.

These providers process data only to operate the App and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Data is processed on servers located in the European Union. Where any transfer outside the EU/EEA occurs through a service provider, it is covered by an appropriate safeguard such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@kazookapps.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because the App does not store your customers' personal data, we have no customer personal data to retrieve or erase in response to Shopify's customers/data_request, customers/redact, or shop/redact requests. We honor these requests by confirming that no such data is held and by deleting the store's own records as described in Section 7.
The App is a business tool for merchants and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly process data of anyone under 16.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date at the top, and where appropriate we will notify you within the App.
